Ford Statistics: Sales, Revenue, Electrification, Workforce and Emissions

Ford’s 2025 results show a global automaker with approximately 4,395,000 vehicles wholesaled worldwide, $187,267 million in consolidated revenue and 2,204,124 U.S. sales. The figures span different definitions: Ford’s worldwide volume is wholesale shipments, while its U.S. release reports sales, and EPA fleet statistics use model years rather than calendar years. This overview keeps those populations and periods separate.

Global scale and financial performance

Ford’s 2025 Form 10-K reports approximately 4,395,000 vehicles sold at wholesale worldwide. Ford defines wholesale volume as vehicles sold or shipped to dealers and other customers, so this is not the same measure as retail registrations. The company’s 2025 fiscal-year results ended December 31, 2025. (Ford Motor Company 2025 Form 10-K)

The consolidated financial picture was large but not uniformly profitable:

  • Consolidated revenue was $187,267 million worldwide.
  • Revenue excluding Ford Credit was $173,996 million, while Ford Credit contributed $13,271 million.
  • Ford reported a net loss attributable to Ford Motor Company of $8,182 million.
  • Ford Credit reported $2,175 million of net income.
  • Total costs and expenses were $196,436 million.
  • Interest expense on company debt, excluding Ford Credit, was $1,254 million.

These numbers describe the consolidated company and its finance subsidiary in different ways. Ford Credit’s revenue and net income should therefore not be treated as the same operating activity as vehicle manufacturing. Likewise, the consolidated loss is not a direct measure of the result of every vehicle sold.

U.S. sales, market share and nameplates

Ford’s official calendar-year 2025 U.S. sales release reports 2,204,124 vehicles, up 6.0% from the prior year, and a 13.2% share of the U.S. vehicle market. These are U.S. sales figures, not the worldwide wholesale total above. (Ford Sales Rose 6% in 2025 on Torrid Truck, Hybrid Demand)

U.S. Ford measure, calendar year 2025 Result Change or scope
Total vehicle sales 2,204,124 Up 6.0% year over year
U.S. vehicle-market share 13.2% U.S. market
Pickups and vans 1,268,749 Up 9.5%; combined category
F-Series 828,832 Up 8.3%
Maverick 155,051 Up 18.2%
Explorer 222,706 Up 14.7%
Bronco 146,007 Up 33.7%
Ford Pro Transit 161,797 Up 5.9%

The product mix was particularly concentrated in trucks, pickups, vans and SUVs. Pickups and vans together reached 1,268,749 U.S. sales, while F-Series alone reached 828,832 trucks. The Maverick’s 155,051 pickups and Bronco’s 146,007 vehicles were smaller totals but both posted double-digit year-over-year growth. Transit is reported here as Ford Pro Transit van sales, not as all Ford commercial activity.

Electrification and connected services

Ford sold 228,072 hybrid vehicles in the United States during calendar year 2025, up 21.7%. Within that total, F-150 Hybrid sales were 84,934 trucks, up 15.0%, and Maverick Hybrid sales were 81,034 pickups, up 17.9%. Ford’s release labels the category hybrid vehicles and separately discusses hybrid and plug-in-hybrid terminology, so the category should not be expanded beyond Ford’s stated definition. (Ford Sales Rose 6% in 2025 on Torrid Truck, Hybrid Demand)

Ford-reported U.S. electric-vehicle sales totaled 84,113 vehicles across three nameplates in 2025. Mustang Mach-E accounted for 51,620 electric SUVs. The 84,113 figure is a Ford-reported U.S. total for three nameplates; it is not a measure of all Ford global EV activity, and it should not be added to the worldwide wholesale figure as though the populations matched.

Participation in Ford’s commercial software and driver-assistance services provides another view of adoption. Ford Pro Intelligence had approximately 840,000 active paid software subscriptions in 2025. Fourth-quarter subscriptions were up about 30% year over year, while the active-subscription total is approximate and the growth comparison applies specifically to the fourth quarter. BlueCruise hands-free highway driving surpassed 8.5 million cumulative hours by the end of 2025. That cumulative figure measures use across Ford’s connected vehicle fleet, not hours per vehicle or a safety outcome.

Business segments and profitability

Ford reports its vehicle and commercial activities through segment measures that are useful for comparing volume, revenue and EBIT. The segment wholesale figures below are worldwide and use Ford’s segment definitions; Ford Blue includes Ford and Lincoln internal-combustion and hybrid activity, while Model e is Ford’s electric-vehicle segment. (Ford Motor Company 2025 Form 10-K)

Worldwide segment 2025 wholesales 2024 wholesales 2025 revenue 2025 EBIT EBIT margin
Ford Blue 2.728 million 2.862 million $101,019 million $3,024 million 3.0%
Model e 178,000 105,000 $6,670 million -$4,806 million -72.1%
Ford Pro 1.488 million 1.503 million $66,286 million $6,843 million 10.3%

Ford Blue’s wholesale volume was 2.728 million units in 2025, compared with 2.862 million in 2024. Ford Pro wholesales were 1.488 million, compared with 1.503 million in 2024. Model e wholesales increased from 105,000 to 178,000 over the same comparison, but its 2025 segment revenue was $6,670 million and its EBIT loss was $4,806 million.

The negative Model e margin is an accounting performance measure for the segment, not a calculated loss per vehicle. Ford Pro’s $6,843 million EBIT and 10.3% margin show the different economics of its commercial segment, while Ford Blue’s $3,024 million EBIT and 3.0% margin provide a separate comparison. Segment margins should not be interpreted as equivalent to the consolidated net result.

Workforce, plants and trade reach

At December 31, 2025, Ford employed approximately 169,000 people worldwide, including about 87,000 in the United States and 76,000 elsewhere. The counts are approximate, include consolidated entities and separately disclose Ford Credit. Approximately 56,300 U.S. hourly Ford employees were represented by the UAW on that date. (Ford Motor Company 2025 Form 10-K)

Ford’s 2024 impact profile reported 41 manufacturing and assembly plants in global Ford operations. That report uses its own plant scope. It also reported 168,569 employees in 2024, a report-specific sustainability figure that is not identical to the approximate 2025 year-end employment count in the Form 10-K. (Ford Integrated Sustainability and Financial Report 2025)

Ford said it assembled nearly 350,000 more light-duty vehicles in the United States than any other manufacturer in 2025. It also reported that 83% of vehicles it sold in the United States were assembled there. Approximately 311,000 U.S.-assembled vehicles were exported to more than 60 international markets. These are Ford-reported 2025 U.S. assembly and trade measures; the export count is approximate and the 83% figure concerns vehicles sold in the U.S., not global production. (Another Year of Ford’s Commitment to America)

Environmental and community measures

Ford used 9,666,188.5 MWh of energy in global operations in 2024, including 3,246,747 MWh of carbon-free electricity at manufacturing facilities. Carbon-free electricity is Ford’s operational metric and is not the same as renewable electricity alone. Global water use was 15.1 million cubic meters, 21.6% below Ford’s 2019 baseline. (Ford Integrated Sustainability and Financial Report 2025)

Ford reported 356 million metric tons of total greenhouse-gas emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 in 2024. This is an estimated global value-chain total, not an operational-only measure. Separately, absolute greenhouse-gas emissions from global operations were 49% below the 2017 baseline. Total Scope 3 emissions were reported 16% below the 2019 baseline; Scope 3 accounting depends on reported and modeled activity data.

The supply chain accounted for an estimated 42.5 million metric tons of carbon-dioxide equivalent in 2024, 1.4% below 2023. Ford stated a 32-million-ton 2030 target for supply-chain emissions. The 2030 figure is a target, not an observed outcome, and the chart values are rounded.

Ford had 82 true-zero-waste-to-landfill sites in 2024. Across global operations, it sent 14.7 million kilograms of waste to landfill and recycled 725.8 million kilograms. The true-zero count covers sites meeting Ford’s definition, rather than every facility. Ford also reported $76.8 million in charitable contributions in 2024 and 1.8 million employee volunteer hours accumulated since 2005 through the Ford Volunteer Corps. The volunteer figure is cumulative history, not a single-year 2024 total.

Vehicle efficiency and measured performance

EPA’s U.S. manufacturer table for Ford’s model-year 2023 fleet estimated 374 grams of real-world carbon dioxide per mile and 23.2 miles per gallon. These are EPA-estimated real-world fleet values, not direct on-road measurements for every vehicle and not window-sticker values. (2024 EPA Automotive Trends Report: Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Fuel Economy, and Technology since 1975)

The same model-year 2023 Ford fleet averaged 4,845 pounds of curb weight, 316 horsepower, 6.6 seconds for 0-to-60-mph acceleration and a 58.2-square-foot vehicle footprint. The averages combine Ford’s model-year fleet, so they do not guarantee the specification or performance of an individual model. Footprint is a regulatory vehicle-size measure, not interior cargo volume.

EPA’s preliminary model-year 2024 Ford fleet estimate was 23.8 miles per gallon and 365 grams of carbon dioxide per mile. The preliminary average vehicle footprint was 56.4 square feet, including 48.0 square feet for cars and 57.8 square feet for trucks. EPA labels these model-year 2024 values preliminary and based on manufacturer production estimates before vehicles go on sale; the car and truck split follows regulatory definitions.

The calendar-year 2025 sales figures, fiscal-year 2025 financial results, 2024 sustainability measures and EPA model-year estimates describe different populations and periods. Keeping those definitions visible is essential when using Ford statistics to compare scale, adoption, business performance, environmental activity or vehicle attributes.
